Chris Huzzard - Producer Member
Five years has seen Chris Huzzard develop an important relationship with CTV.
Chris studied in economics and at the age of 20 he fell into photography when, after being cajoled by his sister to "borrow" his fathers camera to take a shot for her portfolio, his next shoot was instrumental in helping her friend win a national magazine competition. His fourth shoot was his first professional assignment.
Chris is relatively new to the world of film and television however his broad photographic and lighting knowledge as well as his experience in establishing a business incubator for new talent, positions him well to help CTV acheive similar goals.
Chris assisted CTV Perth in building its studio, helping them to set up lighting and green screens within a severely constrained budget. Moreover, in a CTV Perth project called Crime and Punishment, Chris was responsible for shooting still photos and helped design the packaging of the program. Chris' goal is to assist CTV to promote young talent and to become a central force for emerging videographers |

Sister Hue Canh - Association Member
Sister Hue Can is a Vietnamese who came to Perth in 1975 for studies and work. She graduated from a French high school, then studied Bachelor of Art and Education and Bachelor of Human Sciences. After her completion of school studies, she worked in a French high school as a French teacher for 7 years before coming to Australia . It was a high school that spoke French as its first language, Vietnamese the second. She came to Perth because her sister was here. She believed that being a librarian in Perth could help her understand the culture better by talking with people and reading books.
Although her resume was good, she failed to get any job. Sister understood that it was hard for an Asian to find a job in Australia . At the time, she thought any library job, part-time or full-time, would be good for her. She knew that her understanding of Perth , its culture, and people here would improve by reading lots of books while working as a librarian. Eventually, she was offered a part-time library aide job by Perth Technical College .
Working as a part-time library aide, she met lots of people everyday, and had a chance to talk with them about everything. Later, Gosnells Public Library offered her a full-time children librarian job. She saw it as an opportunity to do something for children.
After spending a period of 10 years in the librarian field, she became a coordinator of an ethnic childcare resource unit. Her job was to give advice to people who need assistance and help migrants from everywhere. She was responsible for providing information to them regarding migrant issues, including cultural difference and language barrier.
After helping migrants for 5 years, Sister realized that she had been helping others. At that moment, she felt that it was time to help herself. She felt that by looking into self, she would better understand herself, and then be more capable of helping others. Therefore, she started to follow a Buddhist master who taught her theories of Buddhism. She once wanted to go to India and was about to go to Sri Lanka to study and practice Buddhism. However, after reading the work of a Vietnamese Buddhist master “The Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu” that guided her practice and thinking, Sister decided to stay in Perth and became a nun. She believed that she had been “running away from home” before practicing Buddhism, and was “going home” in a very peaceful way afterwards. Now, she lives in Victoria Park in a Buddhist temple that used to be her house. She decided to transform her house into a temple because she thought it was easier for her to practice Buddhism and help others. Now, Sister regularly hosts her meditation lessons in the temple twice a week, on every Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and every Saturday afternoon, from 2 to 4 pm.
Besides practicing Buddhism, Sister is a committee member of several organisations. In CTV Perth, she is an association member and a close friend with the chairperson of CTV Perth, Peter Jeffery OAM. She has been part of several CTV Perth programs, including one that interviewed her Buddhist teacher and one that focused on Buddhism. Sister decided to join CTV Perth because she knew that CTV Perth has been a good medium that constantly communicates with the local community. She desires to help people suffer less from their stress and out of pity via CTV Perth.
Since becoming a nun, Sister has been invited to give lectures and meditation workshops in over five different countries.
